Santo António FC's Late Comeback

The new kids on the block almost made the sensation in their golden league debut, but the home team made a huge late comeback and took the win.

Santo António FC versus Gold Coast Christiansborg. Not the most exciting golden league match on paper, but 1519 in attendance were entertained big time and the local fans got what they wanted - Seven goals and a win, even though they went down 2-3 with a goal in the 86th minute of the match.

César Manuel Oliveira became the man of the match for the home team, scoring the two last goals of the match. Philip Donkor scored twice for the visitors in a match with low stats but high intensity. The visitors from Ghana's Gold Coast played their first golden league match ever, but it was players in a bad mood meeting the press after the match.

"We are a newly started and inexperienced team, and the golden league is a great tournament with strong teams, including our hosts this week, but we fought the best we could and were on the way to victory when Oliveira made it a bad debut for us. With a little more luck we could have got the win. An unexpected one, but a win nevertheless. It would have been a fantastic start for us," GCC's Philip Donkor said after the match.

António's César Manuel Oliveira had another wiev on the match. "We were the better team today. They played a good match but we deserved the win we got".

Santo António FC is number 10 in the golden league table after the 4:3 win. Gold Coast Christianborg is number 19.
